Check the console lock switch.

Simple but true the remote transmitter needs power to send a signal to your opener.
If you remove the two wire leads and touch them together does the door open close.
Note that most openers will have two sets of wires one going to the button and another to the photocell safety mechanism.
Turn off the sure lock aka vacation mode on the wall console check if limits are properly set check the door balance condition and door spring check opening force control or force settings.
If pressing the button on your garage door s remote control doesn t work check the batteries first.
If the led isn t lit i don t think your getting power to the wall switch which is consistent with it not working.
The transmitters remotes will not work to close the garage door.
To know for sure what the problem is you may want to have a service technician check the garage door opener.

The problem is either due to a blocked path between the sensors dirty eyes loose wires at the sensors or at the motor head or just bad sensors.
You will find that the door will only move an inch or so in the close direction and reverse.
If the wall control doesn t light up and work properly then the wall control or the logic board in the garage door opener is defective.
The location of the switch will depend on the model of the device.
Check that the wires are secure by gently tugging on them.
If the unit operates correctly with the remote the ones going to the photocell are probably ok.
