Check the mechanism s source and sensor leds. All garage door openers use a sensor light to prevent the door from closing when an object is in its path. Sometimes the sensor becomes faulty and needs to be replaced. If one or both of the lights are off check the fuses breakers and plugs for problems.

Inspect each sensor to make sure the green or red power indicator lights are illuminated. Raise the garage door using the control button on the garage wall or the remote control unit from a vehicle. However if the door goes back to the open position then the sensors are working as they should. Each of the sensors mounted on the garage door has a led light located at the outer side.

For the door to close correctly without reversing the safety sensors need to be aligned perfectly and there should be nothing in the way of the light beam. If both the red source and green sensor lights are on and not blinking then the door mechanism is working properly. Disabling the sensor light on a craftsman garage door opener is only temporary and will render the remote controls useless until you reconnect the sensors. If you see that the sender sensor is not yellow and the receiver sensor is not green then this means that your sensors are probably off.
